Christmas Eve at Broadway Market.
For all your last minute present needs, Broadway Market will be up and running on Christmas Eve! It always one of the most lovely festive treats, and I shall be there 9am-3pm (wearing a lot more layers than this) with lots of stationery, perfect for stocking fillers.

A Fond Farewell.
Here is a very sad goodbye to my lovely assistant Sophie, who has been stepping in for me behind my stall at Broadway Market for almost the last six months of Saturdays! She will be very missed, and I wish her the best of luck in her new job, I'm sure those of you who were persuaded to buy some of my stationery from her by her loveliness will agree. I will still be there, (well, maybe not always me personally...) opposite the Film Shop near La Bouche. Come and get organised and get some Christmas pressies sorted.

A Festive Feature.
This December I can be found amongst the pages of Little Thing Magazine...amusingly the only English words that feature are 'Alice' and 'Big hair'. I got to jaunt about my favourite places so that the lovely Jas Tang could write about 'A Week With Alice Gabb'.
So here are the lovely places that have been featured:
Monday: The Vintage Emporium
(marvellous for free Life Drawing sessions on Tuesday evenings)
Tuesday: Columbia Road Flower Market
(which is on Sundays, although Late Night Christmas Wednesdays have begun)
Food: Brawn - Printers and Stationers
Shopping: J and B - Choosing Keeping
Wednesday: Regents Canal
(My favourite walks are Warwick Avenue to Angel, or Whitmore Bridge to Hackney Wick)
Thursday: The Shop, Cheshire Street
(extremely affordable vintage textiles)
Friday: Towpath Cafe
Saturday: Broadway Market
All clothes worn are from Beyond Retro, Rokit, Old Spitalfields, Urban Outfitters Renewal or The Shop (I'm a creature of habit....)

A London Style Guide.
I have recently received some lovely copies of this new book to sell at my stall on Broadway Market, where I have been featured fiddling over pen nib boxes. It is such a nice surprise seeing where photographs end up, and this book has not disappointed...in fact, I can't stop reading it and making notes as to where to visit next. As a loyal creature of the east, it is luring me further afield already, with its sophisticated photography and well selected eateries, I am already working my way through the long lists.
Available to buy here.

Company Magazine.
It seems Broadway Market's getting all the attention these days (rightfully so), so here I am in August's Company Magazine....I am not entirely sure what I was doing when this was taken....!
I have to say while I'm on the subject, that Company Magazine has got GAAAAME. With a neat new size and swish matt paper, it seems that employing London's fashion bloggers to contribute has worked an absolute treat. I'm still reading my way through....
I also have to give credit to Clobber where I bought that dress from. They are one of my favourite vintage shops and you can visit the seaside while you're at it......
P.S. Please excuse my mini interview, it has been edited by the powers that be.....

Betty Magazine Launch.

Hooray for Betty Magazine! Issue 2 was launched at the Lomography Store in Spitalfields last week, and we were spoilt with endless Pick'n'Mix and cake pops and delightful Malibu cocktails...not only were we visually treated by the lovely surroundings, but we were played a little set by Peter and Kerry.
The magazine itself is full of lovely features, great work from Calico Melton as lead illustrator... Broadway Market has its own double page and the crafty Dalston Darlings have their say too. I have even already tried out some of the tasty recipes and recommendations....
Thank you to Charlotte, hostess with the mostess and editor...
Make sure you get your copy here.

Back at Broadway.
After too many projects and general kerfuffle and mischief, I am back at Broadway Market, every Saturday 9am-5pm. I still don't have a set stall so just to keep you on your toes, I move around weekly....here I am playing Market Trader. If you still haven't visited Broadway, you are missing out sir, located between Regents Canal and London fields, it makes for a grand day out.
Dress sharp mind, these Hackney residents have a fine eye for fashion.
(Well....some more than others....)

New Beginnings.
I love this photo, it appeared on the beautiful blog Loulou and Oscar- showing one of my tweed Captains at the Spider and the Fly pop-up shop. So I have now officially moved to London....come and visit me at Broadway Market in Hackney every Saturday to see many more tweed friends!

The Bright Lights of Broadway.

This is Edith.
She is my doll on the very first part of her journey as part of the Doll Consequences project this year, organised by the wonderful Lucy Jane Batchelor. Over the next nine months some very talented young ladies will be making a doll, and sending it to the next and continuing the chain until all nine of us have a spectacular textile character customised by each and every one of us.
But I can only show you a little bit of her....as it's a secret for the other doll makers.....
In other news I will be a regular member of Broadway Market every Saturday from now until after Christmas, so do come and say hello, it is a very lovely place to be of a Saturday strolling along the canal.
